Meet my “two monkeys,” Grayson, 9 and Caroline, 6. When I found out I was having a little girl, I was so excited because I love little girl clothes, but I am really picky too because I love fashion. I am a fashion fanatic! I was inspired by a friend of mine who bought all her daughters custom clothing on Ebay, but she spent a small fortune. The idea for my company was born!I would make custom clothing for my daughter and all of my friends daughters and maybe I could sell some things on Ebay as well. Well… word got out, people wanted to see what I was making, people wanted to BUY what I was making and it just grew from there. I mean really grew. I was up Christmas Eve one year making pajamas for a family of 12, including the husband!

At the same time, my son was being diagnosed with Autism. We were told that he would need a special form of therapy called ABA – Applied Behavior Analysis. They recommend 40 hours a week of this therapy to be truly effective. Then we found out that insurance does not cover any of this therapy. We struggled with the thought of not getting our son this therapy that we were told would help him tremendously. That was just something we could not accept. So, I decided to get serious about my business and expand it beyond just my “inner circle” of family and friends with the mission of providing custom, boutique style clothing at reasonable prices, while raising money for my son’s therapy.

My company is going on its sixth full year. I have expanded from my website to sell on ETSY.com and in Beyond the Red Door Boutique in Historical Downtown Grapevine, TX. This year I am offering wholesale accounts to select boutiques and am finally getting sewing help. I am also embarking on a new venture in 2011 which will be announced soon. I am excited and nervous at the same time for the future and will strive to produce beautiful and innovative designs for your little monkeys at reasonable prices.

What started as a hobby, grew into a necessity and has turned into a passion!!!
